Our history

The business was founded in 1935 and over the past 70 years has grown into the largest independent firm of its type in the Tendring district of North East Essex. This has given us a pre-eminent position in the local business community. Many of our clients are in their second or even third generation with us.

Our corporate identity is dramatically different from the more traditional image normally associated with chartered accountants and is a reflection of our proactive approach to the needs of our clients. This does not mean that we will tell you what we think you need, rather we will listen to what you tell us and tailor an individual solution appropriate to your requirements.

Our experienced team offers a range of skills enabling us as a firm to meet the financial needs of businesses and taxpayers. From accounting and auditing, through business management, to retirement and succession planning, we have the expertise to support you. As a consequence, you can see that we are ideally placed to "add value" to all our client relationships.

Whilst our core services rely upon our training as Chartered Accountants we recognise that often business owners require more than the traditional accountancy services. Having an accountant who understands how your business works can transform your results. Most of our clients agree that our main contribution to their business comes from our role as ‘most trusted business adviser'.

Our range of clients is as diverse as the advice we are asked to provide. These range in size from newly established sole traders to large owner managed companies. This has allowed our traditional expertise in advising and working with small and medium-sized enterprises to be developed further.
